I am inspired by music in all forms...
Recently back from her participation in the Prague Summer Nights Festival in the Czech Republic, Emilia Lopez-Yañez is an up-and-coming artist already sharing her music on the international stage. She completed her Bachelor of Music degree from Chapman University, with a double emphasis in voice and oboe, and is now working on her Masters Degree in Oboe Performance at USC. Lopez-Yañez has already amassed an impressive resume as a musical double threat.
As an oboist, Lopez-Yañez attended the Prague Summer Nights Festival and performed in various prestigious concert venues, including: the Estates Theater, Smetana Hall, and Dvorak’s Home. Emilia is also an active freelancer in the greater Los Angeles and San Diego area. Her oboe work can be heard on the San Diego Jewish Men’s Choir albums: Kochi, Legacy, and Heritage (A Global Music Award winner). Lopez-Yañez served as principal oboist for the Chapman Orchestra and played in the Chapman Wind Quintet, which recently returned from their Northern California tour.
Emilia has been fortunate to study with many incredible oboists throughout her career including Jessica Pearlman, Lelie Resnick, Paul Sherman, Electra Reed, and is currently in the studio of Joel Timm.
